i think long term relationships at this age should not be avoided! this is the age where most people say you are suppose to find that special person to be with forever. such as your high school sweethearts.
i think that long term relationships should not be avoided also because in some ways it makes the person more mature. yes they are in a relationship with someone they can be themselves with hopefully, but i think that long term relationships help mature some people.

I do not feel that this is true at all. I've been dating guy for almost a year now, as well, and I am really happy. I think people say that because they don't want people of younger ages to get hurt like they might have. However, everyone has to learn from their own mistakes. If being in a long term relationship is what makes you happy, then I think you should go for it.
Happiness is different for everyone. For instance, for one man it could be football and for another man it could be his wife. It really all depends on the type of person you are. It really irritates me when people call teenage love "puppy love" because I look at it like this: they aren't in your situation with that other person and they don't know anything that the two of you share, so they should just keep their mouths shut.
At young ages, I think it's good to be in long term relationships. From this, you learn all about one person, like really learn. You watch that person grow and change and you learn to love them regardless to their past. I think it's healthy because you get to experience things and you can grow from another person. I think that long term relationships are good at young ages, if you can handle them!
no, i don't think this is true because if you really like the person you should keep dating them. Don't care what people say. I think that long- term relation ships are good. And im proud of the people that can date someone for a year because that proves that theyre not those certain labels and that you know how to maintain trust, and honesty.
Even though most people have relationships they only last a few months. Teenagers and young kids are always balminess, and always finding something to call you down for. I can say I haven't had a long relationship before but im tired of short ones. You just have to find the right guy.

For me yes this is true. This is true for me because I get "bored" after an average two months of dating a girl. Why this happens I do not know but it happens quite frequently. Although i was in a long term relationship is was off and on and we did not see each other that ften. This is why i agree that young adults like ourselves should avoid long-term relationships.
This is a really hard question. This all depends on how you feel about the person that you are in a relationship with. So i somewhat agree and disagree with this.
Ninety percent of the time, the person that you are dating you will not get married to. Everything comes to an end and sometimes i think that if you go and give yourself to someone that you will not get over it anytime soon. You shouldn't really date someone until you want to marry them.
There is a chance though, that you could find the one you are supposed to be with in High School and you may get married to them and fall in love and what not. If you are in a long-term relationship, don't end it. Because you still have a lot to learn about that person even of you have been dating them for a very long time, it all depends on how you feel about that person.

I think this statement is so true. In order to marry, you must have dated. This is great to already be figuring out the qualities you want in a marriage partner.

I think if you start on learning about relationships now, then in the future you will be prepared. I think if you have found the right person in your life, you should keep them as long as you can no matter what your age is. What is the difference with you loving your family and you loving your boyfriend? I don't think there is anything wrong having a long term relationship now! Live your life.
